A simple centerpiece you can leave out day-to-day.

While we love decorating for the seasons, we are also very practical people when it comes to our decor. I’m sure a lot of you can agree that with the chaos of everyday life (and in my case – a 2 year old running around!) a simple, no fuss centerpiece is key.

While we still love a beautiful or extravagant tablescape for entertaining (watch for that post next week!) we don’t keep our table set all the time. So once the entertaining is done, we go back to a simpler piece that can withstand our day-to-day lives. We are here to help you create that simple centerpiece!

We like to start with a great runner (in this case our Grain-sack striped runner we carry in our store) and a base of a dough bowl, tray or one of our farmhouse wood risers we make. Something wooden over Kristen’s white table helps to warm up the space, but you could use a white or gray piece over your wood table.

Next we added in some leftover fuzzy mimosa branches we purchased for our mini fall harvest wreaths we made. This way our centerpiece will tie in with our wreaths! We opted not to cut the stems off in case Kristen decided to use them differently next year, but instead just folded them up.

Next we began adding pumpkins – beginning with a large ticking stripe pumpkin we made in the very center. We added a couple large pine cones around the large center pumpkin and then small pumpkins in varying sizes and textures came next. Kristen made a sweater pumpkin a couple years ago, and the tiny white pumpkins are perfect additions!

But we decided we needed just a little more color – so a couple faux leaves and blue berries were tucked in around the pumpkins and pine cones. And voila! a simple centerpiece was created!

It is no fuss, not very tall and the entire thing can be easily moved if you need to spread out on the table. That is why I like starting with a tray, bowl, or riser. You can pick the whole thing up and move it if needed!
