Hey friends! Last week we shared a step-by-step process on how to create a very simple table centerpiece that can stay up everyday. It was easy to make, and easy to move if needed and is exactly what I leave on my table for fall! But for today, we wanted to share how to take your table up a notch and create a tablescape with a little more “oomph”!
We have talked about how to create a tablescape before and we will almost always suggest starting with some kind of tray, basket, bowl, or in this case one of our Farmhouse pedestal risers that we hand-make! This size is our largest of the 5 sizes we always keep in stock, but we also offer a custom table runner riser that is longer and lower. (Otherwise we can of course customize a riser just for you!) Starting with a tray or pedestal is a great place to start because it grounds your items and helps to add interest.
After the riser we grabbed our largest item we wanted to place – the ironstone pitcher, and set that up on one side but on top of the pedestal. This creates nice height, and balances the large pedestal. A fall wooden sign came next on the other end of the pedestal. There is something about adding words to a vignette that adds interest.
And the cutest little fabric wrapped pumpkins were then strategically placed around the larger items! A couple on top of the pedestal and one on the bottom. I mixed and matched the fabrics instead of being super matchy-matchy with the same. (A little tip too, odd numbers typically look great in vignettes or centerpieces.) We actually craft these fabric pumpkins for our store so each and every one is completely unique!
A couple small white pumpkins and some beautiful fresh picked hydrangeas were then added to complete the centerpiece. I love fresh flowers, and these turning hydrangeas were absolutely perfect! Since I had so many blooms on my bush this year I decided to cut some for drying so I can enjoy them for longer. Most were added to the Ironstone pitcher but I had a few leftover so I grabbed a couple copper moscow mule cups to add some more to and they brought in some absolutely beautiful color I was very happy with!
Then to finish it out, I added a few woven placemats for great texture and color over the white table and our favorite fancy white plates. Napkins and those cute tiny white pumpkins added the perfect finishing touches.
A really neat fact to this table is that at least half of the items on here can be found at our store! The grainsack table runner, the farmhouse riser, antique Ironstone pitcher, the fabric pumpkins we make, and the small wooden plaque! Isn’t that cool! If you want to set a table like this, definitely stop by to see us! We would be happy to help you with a centerpiece of your own.
Otherwise, we linked to a lot of the other items for you to easily grab some for yourself. Just click through the link to see where to purchase. We hope you have a ton of fun creating a fun fall tablescape of your own!
