Do you decorate your bedroom for the seasons? Besides maybe hanging a different wreath up I have never once decorated my bedroom for the holidays. However, this last spring after I completely made over our Master Bedroom I became super excited to change it up in my bedroom to create a super cozy space! (See our Bedroom Makeover post HERE)
I just absolutely enjoy my new master bedroom space since it’s makeover last spring. We still make the bed almost every day, I am still in love with my DIY Headboard and love the cozy rug over the carpet. The only thing I was worried about was not having my huge comforter on the bed in the dead of Minnesota winter. I loved the french inspired quilt so much I didn’t want to have to put anything over it!
We have found we haven’t needed the comforter at all so far and we have gotten a few snow showers already. So instead of adding the comforter I added a couple warm throws to the bedroom instead! Not only will this help if it gets colder at night, but it really adds a level of coziness for the winter months. And the plaid throw adds in some of that much needed color for the Christmas Season. I have been all about the plaid the last couple years! I am absolutely IN LOVE with all the pretty plaid fabrics they have out there. (And I totally mix and match my plaids too!)
[HERE is where you can find the plaid throw and HERE is the matching plaid deer.]
The two tan and white ticking stripe pillows in the back are ones that Vicki makes for Timeless Creations Boutique that I purchased. I had them in here already and just switched out my teal bird pillow for a Christmas one I had purchased from TJ Maxx years and years ago.
And on the bed again is our Large Riser that we make and is one of our most popular items in our Etsy store. I seriously don’t know what we did without these decor items! They are now a staple in my own home and I’m pretty sure I have about 4 or 5 in different sizes in different rooms! This large one makes a great centerpiece or tray like surface. You could use it for breakfast in bed, or a cup of coffee while reading (if your careful!)
On the nightstands I added just a couple small items since we don’t have much room there. A small plaque that I made, and a rattan angel on the other side. Red berries in the existing greenery adds to the Christmas vibe.
Above the bed went a new wreath that I made. I really enjoy getting creative with making wreaths and swags. I like having something different that not everyone else has. Many of the wreaths I see are either fake-looking or just not my style, so instead I make my own! Which is why Vicki and I do what we do. We both enjoy bringing our creations to our small store. Christmas crafting has been so much fun this year!
The swag over the “Family” plaque was also made this year. It was just two large greenery and berry stems put together with a bow in the middle. And isn’t that garland on the headboard the cutest?! I looked at a bunch of different garlands, and ended up finding this one from our store! I was thrilled! I love being able to shop small and I definitely supported our own store for the Christmas season! Perfect!
And I’m so happy with how our master bedroom turned out for the season. It was fun to add some cozy Christmas items in here for the holiday season. It wasn’t much, but just enough added decor to get in that Christmas spirit! So…I want to know – will you be decorating your bedroom for the Christmas Season?!
