Welcome to our Christmas Home Tour for 2016! We are so excited to be participating in such a fun Holiday Blog Hop with some wonderful home decor bloggers. If you are coming from Uncookie Cutter, thank you so much for visiting! If elsewhere, we so appreciate everyone stopping by for some holiday inspiration.
Every year we have a tradition of going as a family to cut down a real christmas tree. This year we were a bit late in getting to the tree farm but had the absolute perfect day on Sunday after a nice wet snow fell! We all got our boots on and bundled up the baby for a wonderful afternoon where we made fun new memories! (Think tree falling off the top of the car into the middle of the road…!) Having fun with the people you love most is what the spirit of the holidays is for.

This year we chose to decorate with a color palette of neutrals with some red mixed in here and there. Trees of all sizes, shapes, and textures were utilized on pretty much every surface! Candles and ornament bulbs were also a staple.
5 Simple tips to help with your Christmas decorating
1.) Pick your color scheme. From the traditional red and green, to neutral decor, to aqua or brown bulbs on your tree, you can choose just about anything. But it’s easiest to decorate around one color scheme so everything flows.
This year we decorated with basic neutrals (silver, white, and champagne) with pops of red here and there.
2.) Layer with lots of cozy items like throws and pillows.
3.) Utilize outdoor items! Greenery goes a long way with holiday decor, but twigs, pinecones, and acorns are wonderful in vases or bowls too. Not to mention they can be free!
4.) Add some Sparkle! Sparkle, sparkle everywhere!
5.) Have fun! Blast your holiday music or drink some hot cocoa while your decorating. That’s what we do!
We kept the kitchen super simple this year again. The large family gathering is here so every available inch is needed for food or drink! We have small centerpieces (that may actually need to be moved during the big day) and little trees in certain areas.
Simple and easy was key to avoid having to pack anything away or have the counters overcrowded.
