A Bench after our own heart!

We have some very beautiful furniture makeovers coming for you in the next few weeks. We are so excited to be sharing them with you and can’t wait for you to see them! As some of you may know, we took quite a few pieces of furniture to a pop-up market we attended at the beginning of November. We had a French-style theme with most of our pieces we brought. This is another one of those french-styled pieces.

Here is the not-so-pretty ‘before’.

It had beautiful little curved legs, but in it’s old and fallen apart state you couldn’t tell how precious this bench was. So we decided to make it over in one of our favorite gray colors from Annie Sloan – French Linen.

But we didn’t stop there – Oh no! We applied some clear and then black wax to deepen the color and bring out that carved detail around the top and on the legs.

We then had to recover the top. That entailed taking it all apart and beginning again. New webbing, new foam and new fabric were all added.

Fun Fact – we actually refer to that beautiful dark Damask style fabric as “Our Favorite Fabric” because we are that in LOVE with it! Anything it adorns sells pretty quickly for us.

And to top it off, some pretty little decorative trim was added all around the edges. We love this looped style trim and have used it in many different colors!

This piece surprisingly didn’t sell at the market, however, it sold fast after only 2 days once posted online!

Ya know when your a small business owner trying to grow, every little sale counts! We almost always do a little dance, or give each other a high five when a customer really enjoys one of our furniture pieces. This was no different. We absolutely adored this little bench and were so happy to see it go to a great home!
