Fall Front Porch + Blog Hop

Oh have we got a treat for you this week our wonderful readers! We teamed up with some other amazing bloggers for a Fall Porch and Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop (this is a first for us!). These other home decor and DIY bloggers are people we have looked up to for a very long time, and we are so proud to be sharing our very own ideas along with theirs for a boat-load of fall inspirations, just for you. 🙂

Stay awhile and browse our farmhouse front porch, complete with our favorite fall pumpkins, lanterns, and mums. Then go see what everyone else has added to their spaces for the autumn season.

For this years porch, we knew we wanted to get in on the trend of the beautiful white pumpkins. We actually bought orange ones, covered the stems with painters tape and spray painted them white. (This is the paint we used). Then while stopping at Menards to order the new doors for our storefront I came across those green Heirloom Pumpkins and just HAD to have them.

The heirloom pumpkins have such character and went well with our neutral color scheme. Kristen was ecstatic when she found those sitting on the porch!

After accumulating and painting enough pumpkins, we raided my house decor and brought out all the red lanterns I had. While I love the fall colors on the trees, I am not a big fan of decorating with orange or yellow, so red became the accent color this year!

I had one black lantern and we loved the look it gave by sitting on top of the red bench. We added a cream candle and a mix of acorns and pine cones to the inside. The rusty white fence in the background was a great score we picked up at the Oronoco Gold Rush Days back in August. I have been wanting one for a very long time.

That red mum in the front left corner is the only one with full blooms on it at the moment. The white ones are coming, and can’t wait to see them full as well!

We planted the mums in my favorite urn planters I use year round by the front door. (find a similar urn) For the others, we found other another cream urn, and galvanized buckets.

This chippy white iron bench was another fun vintage find I got at a flea market last year. And that fuzzy blanket makes the spot so cozy.

I’m going to let you in on a secret…don’t tell…we stole this adorable little box from my daughter Kyla’s room! It just matched perfectly with the porch decor, and brought a little hint of black to this side. Add in some burlap and a few small white pumpkins and it made the perfect rustic fall box! Don’t worry, Kyla will be getting her box back 😉

And for the front door, we whipped up a DIY wreath in no time at all by using foliage I had stored away. I am a huge fan of eucalyptus and used about 4 different kinds in this wreath. (Red, green, brown and large red)

The red eucalyptus was the base but the white really brought it all together. And we couldn’t help but add some pheasant feather picks in the mix as well! We used them in our Fall Tablescape as well and really liked the texture it brought.

For the sitting area, a few pillows were added for coziness, and those fabulous candleholders we painted were brought out. Add in another red lantern and the entire porch now flows perfectly.

Funny side note: we added those deer antlers under the table as a surround to one of our pumpkins, but had to take them back inside after my puppy Kali decided they would make a great a chew toy!

Even though everything is still pretty green around the area, we sure are ready for fall here at the farmhouse!
