White and Wood Fall Tablescape

The basics of creating a neutral wood and white fall tablescape.

This week we are doing a really fun way to spruce up your dining room for the season. We had so much fun with this tablescape! The plan for Vicki’s dining room table was to go very neutral this year. Neither one of us are a huge fan of the typical fall orange and yellow. While we love those colors on the trees for fall, it didn’t fit in Vicki’s house. She has a maroon wall that the colors would have just clashed terribly with…

We knew right away that white pumpkins were what we wanted to decorate with this year. While driving on a road we don’t normally go on we found the nicest older couple to buy pumpkins from this year! It was a really enjoyable stop where we chit chatted for quite a while outside in the nice fall weather.

Anyways, once we got our pumpkins home we covered the stems and spray painted them white using this color. We were a little worried when the wind picked up, but we managed to get them all done before the rain came that day! Whew!

While the pumpkins were drying in the garage, we began the table with those beautiful wood chargers (which are on clearance!).

We then added those beautiful white plates with just a hint of detail on the edges. We also liked the addition of the salad plate with a pattern on it. You could also have the matching salad plates to the dinner plate, but we enjoyed mixing the two plates to create something different!

The fall leaves napkins were a piece that Vicki already had for her house, but we had those pheasant feather picks and added those for extra fun!

For the centerpiece we knew we wanted to add a bunch of those small white pumpkins we painted but needed something for the focal point in the middle of the table. So we took this cute pedestal cake stand that Vicki already had on hand. We then added our pumpkins, a mixture of real nuts and those green faux artichokes. The green that was added with the artichokes brought a really nice color to the table.

I just love all the different textures that we used in this tablescape. It varies from soft with the feathers, smooth in the pumpkins, to very rugged with those acorns and chargers.

Right next to Vicki’s table is an antique dresser that we added just a couple decor pieces to. The pallet tray was made by my crafty sister Kyla, and we just added a wood slice, white pumpkin, a beautiful Ironstone pitcher and cute little teakettle. The dried hydrangeas bring a softness and coordinate with the green from the table.

Those pretty little napkin rings were purchased when we got those chargers. We thought they went so well together. It really brings the entire table setting together-wood piece charger to white plates to scrolled wood napkin ring. When picking them out at the store, some were more white while some had more of the darker wood showing like we got.

There you have it! A beautiful neutral fall table setting that really stands out. Those white pumpkins are my favorite and am so glad we painted them. Another favorite part is just the mix and match of all the different textures around. This centerpiece is definitely staying together for the full fall season!
