Can it get any better than some beautiful curves or detail when it comes to a piece of furniture? That is what we love when choosing which items to rescue and relove. Some good bones, and a little bit of detail – those are the best!
Sometimes it may be hard to picture a piece into what it could be. But when you find something like this little french style dresser with it’s beautiful curves, a new style comes easily to mind!
Just look at that before picture…dark, dingy, with peeling gold paint as the accent. It just wasn’t living up to it’s full potential. Not at all! You could barely see the detail because of the dark color, and it just looked dated.
But then it gets a complete 180 degree makeover. Dark to light! We painted this piece in our very favorite white color – Annie Sloan’s “Old White”. We wanted to keep the piece classic and elegant to go with it’s beautiful style.
And just look at that hardware! These handles actually came with the piece, but were also dingy before, like the rest of the old color. They were in great shape, but just needed a little update! We took an antique pewter kit and completely changed the look of them.
Here’s a closer look at their beauty!
We took this piece to the market we went to at the beginning of November since it went so well with the theme of our booth. And boy did it look good!

Isn’t that antique picture frame just absolutely beautiful. We restyled that too! It has layer upon layer of paint and wax, for that perfect antiqued look. All those colors go perfectly together and it brings out the details so much more than before!
That custom mixture is now one of our favorites after doing a couple frames like that. We are currently searching for the perfect furniture piece (again with all kinds of details!) to do the same look to.
These small dressers and vintage washstands are some of our favorite pieces to restyle. They are just the best size to go anywhere in the home. Kristen has one in her entryway and uses it as extra storage, and a mail drop. Vicki has one in her bedroom, and we have had customers use them for coffee bars too! Wherever in the home, one thing is for certain…you can never have enough of these beautiful babies!
