You know those items you just HAVE to have?
My reaction to these pretty french shutters was just that “Oh….I need to call NOW!”. Luckily I was able to call the place they were located at to reserve them for me to purchase! I was ecstatic! Sometimes on those facebook pages it is really hard to actually snap up items people are selling since there is such a large audience and I am rarely online. But this time, I think it was meant to be 🙂

Funny thing was, when I told Kristen about them she had also seen them online and loved them too! Lucky for me, I got to bring them home.
For my style of home decor I like to mix French and farmhouse, utilizing a bunch of old and antique items that have been “found” through the years. Flea markets, garage sales, and auctions…Oh My! They are some of my favorite places to shop! But you can never go wrong with some new store bought items to go along with the old as well. That beautiful dried wreath I picked up here. And that cute little boxwood topiary was found here!
Even though we love to paint things here at Timeless Creations, there are some things you just leave alone. I loved the perfectly weathered white look of these shutters. They were a bit chippy here and there, the key being to embrace those flaws because they just add to the character and story of the piece.
Those two beautiful blue seltzer bottles were found at one of our favorite places to shop for “found items”, the Junk Bonanza. While things typically aren’t cheap there, the vendors have some of the best “junk” around!
The lantern I found at the same place as the shutters and just loved the patina it had. Even though we put this vignette together quickly I think they go really well together!
It’s always fun to bring home new decor. Finding the perfect space for it can sometimes be tricky, but I think these work perfectly here in my entryway.
Thank you for letting me share my excitement over these pretty pieces I used to restyle my entry. But wait! It isn’t done yet. I just acquired the neatest new piece for this space. I won’t spill the beans yet; you will have to stay tuned as to what I found. I’ll give you a hint though – It is a piece of furniture that will be getting a quick coat of paint!

Don’t you love shutters? Can do so much with them like old wood windows. Love items can implement several decorative ideas with. Can I ask what makes them “French” shutters?
Sounds like you “girls” keep plenty busy. Whose ideas usually get used, Mom or daughter? Just wondered.
If it was our youngest or me, she’d be top dog as she’s like her Dad, control freak and/ or make a person suffer. That’s why we don’t work on projects together. Have to wonder sometimes if she grew up in same house., lol.
Your whole vignette is incredible, love that stand you have it on. Fun to have an entry to play around with, looks great.
Love that twiggy wreath, really pretty, makes lovely statement on your shutters.
Have wonderful week, both of you.

We certainly do love shutters! Basically the only reason we called them “French shutters” was because of the decor we were using to go along with them. This is Vicki’s house and she loves to mix and match french country with farmhouse style. We both work really great together and bounce ideas off from each other well. So we both touch each project in some way. I am in charge of most of the computer posts! (blog and social media) but Vicki writes all of hers. Thanks for asking! -Kristen
