Looking back at the crazy year we had!

At the end of December, Vicki and I always have a great time looking back at the year we have had. And looking back at 2018, it has been totally crazy and full of a lot of new beginnings. We opened an Etsy store in January last year, adding not only our furniture but some of our uniquely restyled home decor items as well. One item in particular has really taken off – our beautifully handcrafted farmhouse risers. Through Etsy we sold our very first furniture piece online, a sweet little settee that went to Ohio, but it didn’t stop there, we sent pieces to New Jersey, Colorado, California and more. We hope to have so many more pieces listed online this year!

We also set a very tight deadline for ourselves to open our Brick & Mortar store in our hometown of Houston, Minnesota. While it was absolutely crazy getting ready for the store opening we ended up meeting our deadline with not a minute to spare! We had a fabulous Grand Opening and have continued to improve the store  as the year has gone by.

While 2018 brought many online features of our work by different brands and blogs we had one of our long-term goals met this fall by being featured in Country Sampler’s Farmhouse Style Holiday Edition magazine. It was a long-term goal of ours to be featured in print, but to actually have it happen so quickly was surreal. We were beyond excited since there is just something special about seeing your work in a magazine.

We also wanted to take a look back at some of our most popular blog posts from the past year. It looks like our room makeovers were really popular this year – one in particular too – Kristen’s laundry room! Almost every single post from the month long $100 Room Challenge last January of Kristen’s Laundry room came in the top 10 posts of 2018. That is so neat. That tells us we definitely need to continue to share our home makeovers with you all! We do already have some planned for 2019 too!! I can’t wait!
