Our Baby Girl’s Nursery Reveal
Yay! My little girl’s nursery is complete! And with no time to waste! This itty bitty room has come a long way so far. It started with paint what seemed like a long time ago. Vicki has been so incredibly busy not only with her work, but taking over all of the things I can’t do while pregnant – thanks to her, this room was painted a beautiful light mint color. My husband then finished it off by painting all the trim; which he HATES, but our little girl is getting spoiled by her daddy already 🙂
Then came my job – designing and planning exactly how I wanted this space to look. Her nursery was worked on during our kitchen makeover, put off for a while, then resumed for the finishing touches. It’s definitely been an ongoing process so it makes me feel so good to have it all done!
Here is where the room began: Baby Girl’s Nursery Plan
Here is another look at what it looked like when we moved in.
And now for the “after”!
And just look how cute it is! The rocking chair was a piece I had previously painted, while the table was a fun DIY project we shared last week. We added a pretty white crib and a small white-painted dresser that doubles as a changing table to finish the furniture. Not a lot of items, but nothing more is needed in my opinion.
(We will continue the reveal starting to the right of the door and continuing counter-clockwise)
Above the crib is a fun banner Vicki made for decor for my shower. It’s so special that my little girl will have a DIY project from her grandma in her room! The quilt that perfectly matches her sheets was a dual project from Vicki and my sister-in-law. She has so many special handmade blankets she received as gifts. I can’t wait for her to snuggle up in them 🙂
On the wall in between the crib and the rocking chair in the corner was decorated with a mixture of canvas and wood pieces. While shopping for her room I couldn’t decided which canvas piece to get so all three came home with me! Otherwise I already had the wooden “You are loved” sign. The rack her headbands are hanging from was a DIY project I made a couple years ago. An old board we had lying around was painted, washed, then had old square nails added as hooks.
Next to the rocker, we added a basket for small toys and extra blankets. The coral pillows that used to be in our bedroom were transplanted to this space.
The curtains were also items we had on hand and just hadn’t used in a while. I shopped for curtains for her space, but with all of the other items that needed to be bought for our girl, we decided to reuse these. And they go so well! Especially next to the gray rocker.
On the last wall, we added the painted dresser with the changing pad on top.
We had a hard time finding the right dresser for this space. I originally wanted a french provincial style dresser, but all the ones I was seeing for sale were too big. So I found this one in our furniture stash in Vicki’s garage and thought it would make the perfect addition!
Above the dresser another DIY project was added! We used to have these crate shelves in our apartment bathroom for towel storage, but decided to utilize them here instead. They now hold some decor, her itty-bitty hats, booties, and some books.
Right next to the dresser is her woven hamper that ended up fitting just absolutely perfect in between the dresser and the closet.
Her closet is pretty small, but definitely fits all of her extra items. I can’t wait until she is here!
And one last look at her pretty room. I had a great time organizing and putting everything away. It was just too fun to wash and put away all her cute clothes! I’m pretty sure she has a romper for each day of the week!
I think Kirby is ready for her to be here too!
Thank you for following along with our baby girl’s nursery makeover. It has been fun! If you like our room makeovers we will have more coming up hopefully this fall (if not earlier)! Otherwise stick around for some great furniture restyles and more DIY projects 🙂
